A warm July welcome to our Sunday Extra listeners. Today we introduce John Yates III of Holy Trinity Church in Raleigh, NC. You have heard his father, John Yates Jr, previously on Sunday Extra. Their family has been connected to Leighton Ford Ministries for decades. Leighton and John Jr worked on many ministry endeavors together. Jim Osterhaus has been a coach for John III, who is preaching this summer on Abraham and helping us see the dynamic struggle we all have to follow God’s leading.
Pray for Resilience
The Australian Resilience mentoring group held their fifth-ever retreat in late June by the Southern Ocean at Point Lonsdale, Victoria. After two years of being unable to meet due to the pandemic, it was a great blessing to join in person once again. They discussed aspects of healthy leadership. And they enjoyed much time to share, pray, and care for each other.
One member shared, “I am reminded again of the privilege of having peers on the long journey of gospel ministry. Even though we have many years left for ministry, we still show signs of the toils – so far wearing the trials and the signs of grace. It was such a merciful gift to seek healing and comfort and encouragement to keep putting Jesus first in our lives and in our ministry.”
Please pray for the eight members of this group as they return to their lives and ministries. They serve as ministers, theologians, staff for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and work in prison ministry. May the Lord continue to refresh and equip them on their journeys.
