Connecting with Global Leaders
Today, pastor Aaron Stewart of Tacoma, Washington, shares God’s Word with us on Sunday Extra. Kevin Ford partnered with this congregation a number of years ago. Going through the visioning process resulted in a rather remarkable transformation that truly ignited this church to do amazing outreach, especially to preschool children. In this sermon Aaron contrasts the boldness of Paul’s discipleship with the hidden faith of Joseph of Arimathea. The message invites us to be transformed by the Gospel, producing courageous faith in our lives.
Across the Heartland – and the World
One of our newest mentoring groups, Heartland Pastors and Partners, met in Petoskey, Michigan, for its first retreat. This group also has their churches in an LFM Cohort going through our visioning process. The ministry couples gathered for several days for encouragement, prayer, rest, recreation, and times of listening to each other and to the Lord.
Stacey shares, “There is great value in having the opportunity to be truly listened to about personal struggles and ministry experiences and encouraging one another as we seek God together. God uses his people to speak his truth, wisdom and to lead others into action or patience in his timing.” Let’s pray for the Heartland group as they move forward in their lives, families, and callings. They ask for prayer for wisdom as they navigate some difficult issues and for the Lord to continue strengthening the foundations of their friendships.
The Fourth Lausanne Congress is now just weeks away. This gathering is the result of years or planning. Michael Oh, the global executive director of Lausanne, recently shared, “Prayer is our breath. Prayer is our power to see the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We cannot not pray.”
Lausanne invites us to unite with believers from across the globe in a 24-7 prayer initiative, seeking breakthrough in global mission together. Together, we can ensure that every moment leading up to the Congress is covered in prayer, seeking God’s guidance, provision, and blessing for this significant event.
