Sunday Extra – April 17th, 2022
He Is Risen!
Happy Easter Sunday to you all! What a thrilling day this can be for those of us alive in Jesus Christ. Corey Widmer of Third Church in Richmond, Virginia, shares today’s message. Corey is a dear friend of LFM. Kevin Ford has worked with this congregation and Corey extensively in the past. His sermon from Easter 2021 speaks of hope, something we all need in this world of ours. People sometimes ask what we do at LFM. Helping ministry leaders rediscover their hope rises to the top as one of our great, overarching tasks. We thank God for that fruit in our ministry. May Corey’s words encourage you today.
How You Can Pray
As we celebrate Easter and the risen Christ, we ask for God’s help to reach and disciple people in His global church, remembering that there is just one church of Jesus Christ. We see all kinds of different local congregations, both in our specific environments and the world. Too often, we think of the church as simply those particular assemblies. But Scripture teaches that there is one body of Christ. In His high priestly prayer, Jesus said, “I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one . . . . And may they be in us so that the world will believe You sent me” (John 17:21 NLT). Let’s pray for Christ’s church, which is often divided by disagreements and differences instead of united in Jesus.
Lord, bring healing and peace to Your body, and bind us together that we may glorify You. Amen.
