God Has a Purpose for Your Life
Today we have a gem from our ministry’s archives. Leighton preaches in a crusade in Elkhart, Indiana, in April of 1966. Speaking to a full house at the 8000-seat Northside Gym, the message rings as timely today as it did then. Speaking from Ecclesiastes 11: 9-10, he talks about a young man who tries to find the meaning of life. Nothing has any purpose, he says, until he finally learns the secret of a life of joy and peace. We are all wise to listen for that key.
Speak to Me
Leighton invites listeners in his message to pray, “Jesus Christ, speak to me.” As we move forward from the Easter season, we want the Lord’s presence, His Word, and His truth to continue to be fresh and dynamic in our lives. King David prayed, “In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly” (Psalm 5:3 NIV). David remained expectant to encounter and experience the living God. Let’s pray that simple prayer – with expectancy – today: “Jesus Christ, speak to me.”
As you do, please pray specifically this week for Leighton and Jean as they are recovering from COVID.
