A Longtime Friend
Good Sunday morning to you, listener! Today, our longtime friend, Ken Shigematsu returns to Sunday Extra to share a message from God’s Word. Leighton Ford has significantly shaped Ken’s life since his seminary days as a mentor and friend on the journey. Ken pastors in Vancouver, British Columbia, and has led LFM mentoring groups. He also recently wrote a book released this year called Now I Become Myself: How Deep Grace Heals Our Shame and Restores Our True Self.
Linking Arms in Prayer
Please join us this week in praying for several ministry opportunities. LFM’s Jim Singleton will be teaching and preaching this weekend in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Evangelist Nick Hurst will also preach on the 20th in Hiawassee, Georgia, at a youth event where about 500 students are expected to attend. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to work through both of these men as they share Jesus with others.
A new friend of ours, Joey Royale, is a Canadian Bishop near the Arctic Circle. He plans to join us this fall for a mentor gathering so he can replicate this ministry in Canada. His area was recently affected by raging wildfires. His entire city of Yellowknife was evacuated in mid-August. Let’s pray for Joey, his family, his town, and those whom he leads in his diocese. These types of crises cause much stress and upheaving for so many people. May the Lord enable them to experience Him as their “refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1 NLT). Pray for their safety and for him to be able to join us in October for our new mentor gathering.
