Wrestling in His Presence
Today we welcome Elisabeth Hayes to our Sunday Extra. She is the Director of Parish Ministry at a church in Richmond, Virginia, where she works with Corey Widmer, a regular contributor to Sunday Extra. Elisabeth speaks about Jacob’s wrestling with the presence of God, who renamed him Israel. LFM has enjoyed a relationship with Third Church for many years through both Kevin Ford and Jim Singleton’s partnering and coaching. We trust this message will help you experience the nearness of the Lord’s presence.
A Little Piece of Heaven
Join us in praying this week for the Joni and Friends family retreats going on now and into the first two weeks of August. They partner with families of special needs persons, taking care of them all day so the parents and siblings can be free to relax and refresh. LFM’s own Tim Helms is serving at these retreats. He shares, “It is always such a powerful and meaningful week! At the end of each week, we give an opportunity for the families to share. Someone always says that the week for them is a little piece of heaven.” This past week over twenty families participated with ninety-six volunteers. Let’s pray they experience “times of refreshing . . . from the Lord” (Acts 3:19 NIV).
