Claude Alexander, who pastors Park Church in Charlotte, shares our Sunday Extra today. A longtime friend of Leighton Ford Ministries, he serves on our Strategic Advisory Board. Today he borrows the title of a recent Super Bowl ad campaign – “He Gets Us.” Speaking from Hebrews 2, he reminds us that Jesus does understand our struggles. Jesus is the ultimate Friend on the journey.
Praying for Preachers
We are thankful when our LFM staff members have opportunities to preach God’s Word. Today, Kevin Ford preaches at Carmel Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. And our Nick Hurst has been preaching this weekend for a youth retreat in Hiawassee, Georgia. Will you pray for them, “that God will open up to us a door [in the hearts of listeners] for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ . . . that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak” (Colossians 4:3-4 NASB). Please pray also for Grant and Carol Nelson, longtime friends of LFM, whose daughter Sarah passed away this past week. May our Lord provide much comfort and hope to them during this time.
