Remembering Who He Is

Today we welcome Jim Singleton as our preacher for Sunday Extra. Jim serves as LFM’s Executive Director of our North American Mentoring Services. After pastoring for many years, Jim spent a decade teaching pastoral ministry at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. His life has impacted many other lives for the Gospel. He delivered today’s Advent message last week at a church in Dallas. He shares who Jesus is, what that means for our identity, and how we step into that reality.

Children Praying for the Nations

As we celebrate during this Christmas season, let’s remember that Christ came as a global Savior. Simeon declared in the hearing of Mary and Joseph, “For my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to Your people Israel” (Luke2:30-32 NIV).

Marleen Mortin recently shared how God can use children to pray for the nations of the world.

Some of her encouragement includes the following:

  • A children’s prayer group started to pray for their Muslim classmates during Ramadan after praying for Islamic countries.
  • Children who prayed for their unbelieving parents saw them coming to faith.
  • A group of children prayed for the healing of a child in the hospital and after he got healed, they shared the testimony in the community. This led to openness in the community for the gospel.
  • Children and their families went on an outreach in their community as they saw the importance of sharing the gospel message with all people.

Let’s also continue praying for Jean Ford who is recovering from pneumonia. Pray for Leighton and the family as they care for her and each other.
