God is At Work
Today’s Sunday Extra preacher is a part of our LFM family – Claude Alexander of Park Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. Claude serves on our Strategic Advisory Board and is a friend and supporter of LFM in many ways. His message, “Transcending Trauma” reminds us that during our troubles, God is always up to much more at any given moment than we know or see.
Numbering The Days
Let’s pray for Claude as he prepares to be the biblical expositor for Urbana 22. Urbana is a student missions conference sponsored by InterVarsity. LFM’s connections to InterVarsity and Urbana are rich. InterVarsity’s President, Tom Lin, leads one of our mentoring communities. Kevin Ford was on staff with InterVarsity in the 1990s. Mark Slaughter serves with LFM and InterVarsity. Leighton has spoken at several Urbana conferences across the years. Leighton’s daughter, Debbie, met her future husband, Dr. Craig Gourley, at Urbana 79.
As we move into the last quarter of the year, we can ask the Lord “to teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12 NIV). May we invest the remainder of this year wisely, seeking Him, serving others, tending our own lives, and accomplishing our year-end tasks to the glory of His name.
