Compassion and Comfort
Thilak Pappu participated in the Lausanne Young Leaders Gathering in 2006 and became a friend of Leighton Ford. Born into a Hindu family in Kerala, India, he moved to the United States in 1986 to pursue business studies at Fresno Pacific College. However, after attending the 1987 Urbana conference, where Billy Graham preached from Isaiah 6, he sensed the Lord call him to full-time ministry, shifting his focus to theological studies.
Today, he challenges us with this question: What happens when God’s compassion collides with our comfort? In this powerful message from Jonah 4, Dr. Thilak Pappu unpacks God’s heart for a lost world and invites us to examine our own responses. Are we more concerned with our comfort than God’s mission? Watch and be encouraged to align your heart with His!
His Mighty Power
Dr. Thilak Pappu is associated with One80 Ministries, an organization focused on evangelism and church planting. His ministry particularly reaches out to Hindus, helping them understand the Christian faith. He also works with Hindu believers through various initiatives to spread the gospel. His dedication to church planting and outreach is central to his role within the organization. Let’s pray this week for Dr. Pappu and One80 Ministries, for the Lord to strengthen them to be “strong in the Lord and in his mighty power” (Ephesians 6:10 NLT), guiding them to be an effective witness for Christ.
Kevin Ford will be leading a church in Idaho through a visioning process this week. Please pray for him. Please also remember to pray for Leighton Ford as he receives radiation and chemo treatment the next couple of weeks.
