Mobilizing a New Generation of Evangelists
Billy Graham traveled the globe preaching to millions. Leighton Ford chaired the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization and alternated with Billy every other week on The Hour of Decision. Jean Graham Ford stayed close to home and invested in people on behalf of her Savior.
All three made a tremendous impact. So can you. And so can the next generation of evangelists.
Jean knew firsthand the impact of her older brother, “Billy Frank,” as she called him, mentoring her husband, Leighton Ford, who in turn mentored and invested in emerging ministry leaders around the world. Here in Charlotte, thousands of women were strengthened by Jeanie’s quiet counsel and arm around their shoulder.
The goal of Jeanie’s Vision is to continue her legacy of investing in people by providing an arm around the shoulder for the next generation of evangelists, near and far. Some will be like Billy, who opened his arms wide with an invitation to come to the cross. Others will be like Jeanie, who held her arms closely, hugging others with a touch that took away tears and fears.
On October 22nd, LFM will host a special, invitation-only event in Charlotte, North Carolina. The program will be a series of conversations with intersecting stories. Billy Graham was more than just Leighton’s brother-in-law. He was a mentor. He listened deeply. Like Billy, Jeanie was a listener. She put her arm around the shoulder of many men and women. Listening, mentoring and encouraging have been the central themes of Leighton’s ministry across the last forty years and the legacy to invest in future leaders.

“But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.”
– 2 Timothy 4:5 (NIV)
Paul’s charge to Timothy echoes through time to us today. In an age where truth is often traded for convenience and attention is pulled in every direction, this simple instruction rings with urgency: do the work of an evangelist.
Jeanie lived that out, not from a platform, but through presence. Not with a microphone, but with deep attentiveness. That same spirit guides us now as we come alongside evangelists around the world, helping them stay faithful, rooted, and equipped for the long road.
