Our sermon today is from Luke 2, and its setting is a Christmas Eve Service at New Springs Church in South Florida. This church is in our Thriving Congregation Initiative. You think Christmas is past; wait until you hear Gavin’s sermon. This is extremely timely. Plus, it gives you a chance to see one of the 19 churches we are working with in this ministry. The passion these pastors have to share the Gospel is inspiring. Like many of our cohort church planters, Gavin has two jobs, pastor and second teacher at a local school. His co-pastor is a Miami Dade Fire Fighter and the Miami Dade Fire Rescue Chaplain. He holds a Master’s from Reformed Theological Seminary. Additionally, he works as a high school Bible teacher and is an avid basketball fan, having played and coached in Coral Springs over the last 20 years. He and his wife, Brigitte, have two kids, Braxton (3) and Gisele (1), and one that is just about here.

Also, pray for Jimmy Paugh: their Discipleship Director. He is currently working towards his Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. As we mentioned above, his second job is as a firefighter for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Jimmy and his wife Lisa Paugh have three boys (Jackson, Jace, Jude) and baby girl (Layla).
