Sunday Extra – April 2nd, 2023
Entering Holy Week
Steve Turnbull from Upper Arlington Church in the Columbus, Ohio, area shares this week’s Sunday Extra. Several of our LFM staff members have partnered with this congregation in the past, helping them through some staff restructuring and pastoral transition. Steve has been a regular on Sunday Extra through the years. Today, he speaks on forgiveness, an important aspect of our Lenten journey as we move into Holy Week. When tragedy occurs, as did in Nashville, Tennessee, this week, the topic of forgiveness rises. We confront issues related to forgiveness within our families, friendships, and a variety of areas in life. And we deal with it even in minor events in life, like when a driver cuts us off in traffic. Steve challenges us today to embrace the habit of forgiveness.
Praying for Ministry Opportunities
Please join us in praying for members of our LFM community. Mark Slaughter has been speaking to a group of Episcopalian Evangelists in Dallas, Texas, this weekend. And Courtney McLaughlin preaches today at BayMarin Church in Santa Venetia, California. Also, Kevin Ford will be working with the staff of a church in Branson, Missouri this week. May the Lord equip all of these servants to be like the apostle Paul, who said, “My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding . . . that they may know the mystery of God, namely Christ” (Colossians 2:2 NIV).
