Can I Trust God to Make a Way?

When have you faced an impassable obstacle to something important in your life and had to trust God to move it for you?

This Friday on LiveCalled Today, LFM’s Jim Singleton asks this question as he takes us into the account of Joshua and the Israelites crossing the Jordan River. This was not a repeat of Moses’ Red Sea; it was a new act requiring new faith and trust in God. Every generation of leaders must eventually step into a river that has no precedent in their experience. Faced with the seemingly impossible task of getting all the Israelites across the flooded body of water, Joshua reminded the people to stay behind the Ark of the Covenant, the special box that symbolized the Lord’s presence. God told Joshua to lead Israel by a way they had never gone before (Joshua 3:4 NIV) – and the Jordan only parted after the priests stepped in while the river was still flowing.

PAUSE AND PRAY

As we face difficulties and challenges today, we too need reminders to follow the Lord. He is the initiator and the potter, and we are the responders and the followers. May we stop to listen, discern, and discover where God is at work, and join Him.

Next week, Pastor David Swanson tells us the story of Samson, where God’s strength was made perfect through Samson’s weakness.
