Be Still and Trust God

Good morning to you! LFM’s Dave McKechnie, who served for 25 years as Senior Pastor of a church in Houston that was one of the largest congregations in his denomination, shares today’s Sunday Extra message. A Canadian by birth, his father and Leighton Ford knew each other many years ago. Dave now lives in Charlotte and is a wonderful presence among so many LFM connections. He preached this message on New Year's Eve – a reminder to be still and trust God. That’s an invitation we always need.

The God of Peace

As we move into the second month of the New Year, we’re thankful for the opportunities the Lord continues to present LFM. Pray with us this week as Kevin consults with the Executive Board of the National Christian Foundation of South Florida – and as he leads a visioning retreat in New York State this coming weekend.

This year marks the fourth international Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization, taking place in September. In the January edition of the Lausanne Global Analysis, Karen Bomilcar challenges us to think holistically about health and wholeness, particularly as they relate to mental health. She writes, “May we continue to build bridges and make connections to help people inside and outside of our Christian communities move towards holistic care.” Read her article here.

Perhaps you or someone you know struggles with mental and emotional wholeness. Why not take time this week to pray for them, that they will “experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7 NLT).
