Is it Finished?
“It is finished.”
Jesus’ work as the sacrificial atonement for our sins was completed once and for all by His death on the cross. But don’t forget that Jesus didn’t then retire to some nice villa in Heaven! Jesus paid it all … and He is still at work in you and me.
If you are reading this e-mail, God is not finished with any aspect of your life.
This has been a “Good Friday year” for many. Darkness. Despair. Deep pain. Yet the finished work of Jesus on the Cross … which leads to his present work in you and me … allows us to claim the promise wonderfully articulated by Tony Compolo: “It’s Friday. But Sunday’s coming!”
Join me today in feeling the weight of Good Friday … of meditating on how Jesus paid it all … and in joyful anticipation that Sunday’s coming.

“JESUS PAID IT ALL”
I hear the Savior say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all
Lord now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
