Is It Worth It? Christ-Centered Vision and the Legacy of Faith
Like a Gentle River
Leighton and Jean Ford shared more than seventy years of marriage marked by love for Christ, faithful service, and deep investment in younger leaders. Following Jean’s passing, Leighton has released Like a Gentle River, a reflective portrait of a life lived with quiet faithfulness.
Read more about the book in Ken Garfield’s recent article in The Charlotte Ledger. Those interested in obtaining a copy of Like a Gentle River may do so by emailing stacyevansmorris@gmail.com. None of the proceeds from the book benefit Leighton Ford Ministries. They are used solely to help defray the costs incurred in publishing the book, which was independently published. You can also watch an interview with Leighton about the book on Charlotte’s WSOC-TV here.
December 19 would have marked Leighton and Jean’s 72nd wedding anniversary. We invite you to pray that God would use this book to inspire others to live lives that please Christ and point people to Him.
Is It Worth It?
This week’s Sunday Extra message comes from Pastor Bryan Yeo as he concludes a series on vision, mission, and values shaped through his church’s True North journey. After asking where we are going, what we are called to do, and who we are becoming, Bryan invites the church to wrestle with one final question: Is it worth it?
Drawing from Colossians 1:15–20, the message centers everything on Christ. He is the image of the invisible God and the One in whom all things hold together. When the vision feels overwhelming or the cost of obedience feels high, this message offers a steady reminder to remain Christ-centered, and that following Jesus is always worth it.
