Be A Living Sacrifice
Happy New Year. Today, Jeremy Vaccaro, who pastors in Fresno, California, and participates in an LFM mentoring group, shares with us from Romans 12. He asks, “What is your greatest goal in life?” and explores how we are compelled to respond daily to Christ. He asks, in light of the incredible mercy and grace of the Lord through His Son, how will you live your life? And how will you respond to all God has done for you? Jeremy gives excellent insight on that today.
Healthy, Attentive Lives
We’re excited about the opportunity LFM staff member Mark Slaughter had this past week to speak at a pastors’ conference in Lagos, Nigeria. On Wednesday, he led a workshop for 7500 African pastors and church leaders. He talked to them about the power of soul friends, describing LFM Mentoring Communities and challenging pastors to start their own similar groups. Then on Thursday, Mark led a plenary session to over 20,000 about “Being a Leader Who Lasts for the Long Run,” preaching from 1 Kings 19 about the need for attentiveness to God and connection with spiritual companions. We thank God for this incredible open door to encourage African leaders to live healthy, attentive lives.
Let’s pray for Mark as he returns home and for the many attendees of this conference. Pray for the seeds sown to take roots in their lives and that they will heed Mark’s challenge and exhortation.
