A complete visioning process designed for smaller churches
Maybe it’s a change in the neighborhood. Maybe your congregation is beginning to age out. Maybe you’ve hired a new pastor and are looking for trusted advice as you explore strategies for your next season of vibrant ministry.
But as a smaller congregation, you don’t have the same resources and needs as the larger church across town.
With initial seed money from Lilly Endowment Inc., Leighton Ford Ministries’ Thriving Congregations Initiative is a complete visioning process designed exclusively for smaller churches. Leveraging the power of teamwork, we bring small groups of like-minded churches together in a three-year cohort to help smaller congregations navigate societal change, identify and strengthen their strategies and values, and thrive based on their theological traditions and unique code (DNA).
The Transforming Church Cohort is not a video series, book club, or off-the-shelf solution. It’s a customized, multi-year consulting relationship designed to help your church identify key strengths, potential roadblocks, and a transformational roadmap built upon your church’s unique foundation.
Typically, three to four churches from the same region and with compatible denominational/theological backgrounds join together in a cohort led by one of LFM’s experienced ministry advisors. The initiative includes regular coaching sessions, on-site retreats, and step-by-step guidance.

We understand church budgets! All of LFM’s coaches, advisors, and consultants have served on the pastoral staff.
The Transforming Church Cohorts was launched with the realization that small churches in need of visioning and strategic planning support often don’t have room in the budget. We would be honored to explore several options with you:
If you are interested, please don’t let funding stop you from starting the conversation. Let us know of your interest, join us in exploring options, and then pray with us for the right opportunity.
