The Best Thanks on Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving dinner at our Debbie’s home last week, with her family and Kevin’s gathered round the table.
Our daughter-in-law Caroline suggested we each mention one thing we were thankful for over the past year.
So we went around the table, saying the usual (and genuine) thanks for family, friends, food
Then at the very end of the table Leighton (our four-year old granddaughter) spoke up, sweetly and firmly.
“I’m thankful,” she said, “for God.”
I would say that’s the best and deepest thanks of all.
And the sweetest to God’s ears too.
