Real Love
Today, Cedric Portis, who participates in one of LFM’s peer mentoring groups, speaks from the church he pastors in inner city St. Louis, Missouri. Cedric looks at I John 4, talking about real love. He explores the fruit of love in different type of relationships and explores three benefits of this love: We know God loves us. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. And we can love others with the unconditional love that God loves us.
An Evangelist at Heart
As we’ve just moved through the Advent Season, we remember that God loved the world so much, “He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16 NLT). Christmas reminds us that God is a missionary God – and an evangelist at heart. When Jesus was born at Bethlehem, “the Word became flesh” (John 1:14 NIV), revealing to humanity what God is like. This week, pray for someone in your life who does not know Christ personally. Ask the Holy Spirit to open their mind and heart to the true meaning of Christmas. And pray for the Lord to open doors of opportunity for you in the coming year to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with someone else.
Let’s also pray for Mark Slaughter, LFM’s Director of International Mentoring. He will speak this week at a conference in Nigeria where 15-20,000 pastors across Africa are expected to attend. Mark shares, “This is a wonderful opportunity to invest in African pastors and church leaders and to share the LFM story and principles for being ‘healthy leaders leading thriving ministries.’”
