Surprised by Joy and Suffering: Finding God’s Glory in Every Season
Surprised by Joy and Suffering
Following Christ is full of surprises. Some arrive as deep joy, others as real suffering, and often the two are intertwined.
Leighton Ford Ministries comes alongside pastors, ministry leaders, and congregations as friends on the journey. We do not arrive with prepackaged answers or formulas for success. Instead, we listen deeply, ask intentional questions, and invite leaders into sacred spaces where they can hear God’s voice and respond with courage.
One way we serve churches is through our coaching ministries. This weekend, Rich Hurst is leading a visioning retreat for a church in Charlotte, North Carolina, as they seek to discern God’s True North for their future. Please pray for clarity, faith, and fruit as they take these next steps together.
In this week’s Sunday Extra, LFM’s Director of Discipling Ministries, Jim Singleton, reflects on Habakkuk 3:17–19. He reminds us that seasons of trial are not wasted. God is always at work, and through both joy and suffering, His glory is made visible to others.
