  • Kevin Graham Ford

    Chief Catalyst, Leighton Ford Ministries

  • Kevin Graham Ford

    Chief Catalyst, Leighton Ford Ministries

Kevin Ford is Chief Catalyst and CEO for Leighton Ford Ministries (LFM), founded by his father, Leighton Ford. He is the co-author (with Jim Singleton) of Attentive Church Leadership (InterVarsity Press, 2024) and chief architect of the Transforming Church Insight congregational survey that includes over 11 million records in its database. He holds a B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill and an MDiv from Regent College in Vancouver BC.

God began working in Kevin at the young age of 4. On the way to the airport with his mother, Jean Graham Ford, Kevin asked her how to ask Jesus to come into his heart. They pulled over on the side of the road, and Jean led him in that prayer.

Kevin’s life turned upside down at age 16 when his brother, Sandy, died on the operating table during heart surgery. In his grief, he began to sense that his life’s call was to make a difference in people’s lives for the sake of the Gospel. As a young man, he began taking on leadership roles through his church youth group, and then through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a student at UNC Chapel Hill. He was profoundly impact by the Amsterdam Conferences for Itinerant Evangelists, convened by his uncle Billy Graham. In his 20s, he served as the Evangelism Director for a local church and then as a Regional Evangelism Specialist with InterVarsity.

Through his experience on InterVarsity staff, Kevin was particularly drawn to leadership principles and organizational change. God continued to help Kevin discern his truest calling over the next thirty years as a leadership and change consultant through the company he founded, TAG Consulting.

Kevin was the senior consultant for the redesign of the U.S. Army Staff and an organizational consultant for large federal agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and large non-profits.  His books include Transforming Church (David C. Cook 2008), The Secret Sauce: Creating a Winning Culture (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2015) and The Leadership Triangle (Morgan James Publishing, 2013).

While Kevin enjoyed a successful business career, his passion was always for the local church.  Increasingly, God opened doors for Kevin to utilize his visioning and organizational abilities to support local churches, provide leadership development for ministry leaders, and help ministry organizations manage necessary change and transition.

In 2019, Kevin Ford, along with his partners, sold TAG Consulting so that he could focus on supporting healthy leaders who sustain thriving ministries through LFM.  Kevin and his beloved wife Caroline are active at their local church, where Kevin plays bass and acoustic guitar. Caroline teaches at the preschool, helps lead worship, and leads the children’s choir. They are proud parents of two adult daughters and one son-in-law.
