Dave Mckechnie – Time Out
Time Out
We live in a hurried, distracted age. Yet the Bible tells us to be “still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 NIV). Today on Sunday Extra, LFM’s President, Dave McKechnie, reminds us of the importance of reflection in a sermon called “Time Out!” Speaking from Philippians 2, Dave challenges us to stop, reflect, and look around to see where God is at work around us. For 25 years, Dave served as Senior Pastor of a church in Houston that was one of the largest congregations in his denomination.
Every Good Thing
Christine, one of our global mentors, spent time this summer with Leighton Ford in Charlotte, NC. She shares, “Leighton Ford Mentoring changed my life. For the past 17 years I have been in an LFM Mentoring Group with women in ministry from all over the world. This group has aligned me to peace, listening prayer, and friendship. I couldn’t go to North Carolina without visiting Leighton!”
When she told her prayer partners about the trip, one of them responded with the following:
Leighton Ford!!!! My father made a commitment under Leighton Ford to become a child of God. They corresponded for a number of years afterward! How awesome that you meet with him. I think he wrote a book about his son Sandy, which I read years ago. And it looks like God has blessed his health and his mental capacity. Praise Him! – Beth
Christine serves as a missionary with SIM. Let’s pray for Christine and her ministry this week. May God “equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him” (Hebrews 13:21 NLT).
