Learning to Trust
Marnie Crumpler of Grace Church in Bethlehem, PA, shares today’s Sunday Extra. She preaches the final service for the congregation in rented space where they’ve worshiped for five years. They have now built a new building they will enter the following week. Their congregation experienced a long wait for the next stage of their journey. Marnie reminds them how to trust – and that God is with us at every step of the journey. Our job is to trust. Marnie has been part of our Discipleship Initiative this year through a grant from a generous donor to LFM. We hope to see many more pastors equipped to lead discipleship mentoring groups within their congregations.
Praying for God’s Servants
Today, let’s pray for Grace Church as they move forward, trusting the Lord. Ask Him to guide and provide for them in the next steps of their journey. This past week, Leighton and Jean had lunch with Edward Graham, Jean’s nephew. Let’s pray for him as he leads Samaritan’s Purse. In particular, he asked us to pray for the work they are doing in Ukraine as he has just returned from that war-torn country. “We have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience” (Colossians 1:9-11 NIV).
