Os Guinness – What is My Purpose?
What is My Purpose?
Os Guinness is no stranger to the Body of Christ around the world. A quiet voice on behalf of faith, freedom, truth, reason and civility, Os is an author, speaker, and social critic, having written or edited more than 30 books. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of London and his D.Phil in the social sciences from Oriel College, Oxford.
Kevin Ford was in a mentoring group led by Os for a period of time in the Washington, D.C. area. Os has spoken at several Lausanne gatherings. Kevin was deeply impacted by his presentation on “The Impact of Modernity” at Lausanne II in Manila.
Today on Sunday Extra, Os answers the question, “What is My Purpose?” in a message he gave at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Exploring two of Jesus’ most famous parables, Os talks about God’s calling for each of us.
Transformational Change
This past week, seven people around the country involved with LFM’s Transforming Church Process gathered at the Navigators’ Glen Eyrie Conference Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for a discernment retreat. They were talking, praying, and sharing about ways to use our Transforming Church Cohorts to impact more pastors and churches for the Kingdom.
Our Transforming Church Process helps congregations navigate societal change, identify and strengthen their strategies and values, and thrive based on their theological traditions and unique code (DNA). This results in congregations impacting their local communities significantly.
Using Colossians 1:9-11 as a prayer guide, they asked God to guide them in the knowledge of His will. Let’s pray this Scripture over this group as they discern how to better help churches develop a transformational roadmap.
