Reaching a Young Generation
What a treat we have for you this morning on Sunday Extra! Nick Hurst, LFM’s Director of Social Media, is a young evangelist who shares the Gospel across North America and around the world. He connects strategically with his generation. Nick recently spoke to a congregation in Charlotte, North Carolina. He challenges us to consider what God is doing in this new day – and how we can join Him in reaching new people and a younger generation with the Good News.
Praying for the Spences
On Thursday, a long-time friend of the entire Ford family went to heaven. David Spence, who Leighton calls a brother he never had, was in a Bible study with Sandy Ford in the 1980s. He was the founder of “First Century Voyages”, where guests retraced Paul’s missionary journeys. David was a Christian leader who was involved in the Christian Study Center at UNC Chapel Hill and served on the board of John Stott’s Langham Foundation. Please pray for the Spence family, that “the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3 NIV) will minister to them deeply.
Also, a new LFM Mentoring Group gathers for their first retreat this week. Under the leadership of Matt Woodley, “The Deanery” consists of church planters representing the Chicago Deanery of the Diocese of the Upper Midwest of the ACNA. Let’s pray for the Lord to work among them in a powerful way this week.
