Making a Way for Others
LFM is deeply involved with mentoring ministry leaders around the world. We see the value of a mature person investing into the lives of other people for the sake of the Kingdom. Today on Sunday Extra, Rhett Wilson, Sr., shares how one biblical mentor impacted the life of a mentee. Preaching from 2 Kings 2, Rhett looks at how the prophet Elisha responded to the passing of his mentor, Elijah. Through the text, we are challenged to remember well, act in faith, and in turn make a way for others, just as our mentors made a way for us. Rhett serves as Senior Communications Director for LFM. He wrote a book about praying for your family called The 7 Ps of Prayer: A Simple Method to Pray for Your Family.
Jeanie’s Vision
LFM is excited about a new Kingdom initiative we are calling Jeanie’s Vision, in memory of Jean Graham Ford. This will focus on mobilizing a new generation of evangelists. This memorial fund will carry out her vision for mentoring younger men and women all over the world who are emerging evangelists.
Let’s pray for the work of this endeavor, that the Lord will provide the leadership, funding, and mentees. LFM envisions providing an arm around the shoulder for budding, young evangelists around the world. Evangelists often feel lonely and isolated. Together, we can help them feel connected and become mentored.
LFM’s Anne Grizzle will serve as the Director for Jeanie’s Vision. Anne has a long friendship with Leighton and Jean Ford. She and Leighton, and many others, crafted the LFM whole-life mentoring model. We’re also excited to announce that Nick Hurst, who served as LFM’s Social Media Director, is taking on a new role as our Director of Mentoring for Young Evangelists. Nick, a young evangelist himself, has a passion to help LFM provide an arm around the shoulder for budding, young evangelists around the world. Please pray for Anne and Nick as they seek the Lord, plan, and discern God’s leading in this new endeavor.
