You’re Going the Wrong Way
Mark Toone, who serves a congregation in Gig Harbor, Washington, shares our Sunday Extra message today. Last week we heard from one of his associates, Ellis White.
Today we hear from Mark, who has partnered with Kevin Ford in the past in strategic planning and also has been friends and colleagues in ministry for more than thirty years with Jim Singleton. Mark preaches on the complicated problem of evil in our world in his sermon, “You’re Going the Wrong Way,” from Luke 13:1-9. The background behind the pulpit is part of his congregation’s Vacation Bible School preparation.

Rich Hurst, LFM’s Executive Director of Ministry Teams, recently toured Germany with his wife Kim in celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary. The past two years, Rich has battled cancer, and he received a life-giving stem cell transplant in March 2021 from a donor in Germany. For the first time, he was able to meet her in person in July.
He shares, “The feeling of walking off the airplane into the arms of the person that saved my life with her gift is more than I can describe.”
Rich and Kim also visited one of our global mentors, Rike Huettmann, and her husband Karsten, who is a leader for the Lausanne Movement’s Germany team. Let’s give thanks to our Lord for his mercy and grace in Rich’s life – and for the work God is doing through LFM in Germany.
